The Fralin Blues Special Strat Pickups are outstanding!- Dennis Strack

Thanks Dennis! I use the Blues Specials in my own 80's MIJ Squire Strat with a Duncan JB in the bridge position. Vintage style Strat single coils are ussually overpowered by a full size bridge humbucker...not the Fralin Blues Specials. They sound great!- Lew

I purchased a Fralin 9.2K Bridge Humbucker from Lew's Guitar Shop and it is just Awesome! Maybe the BEST HUMBUCKER I have ever played in 35 years of Pro playing.- Kenny Blue Ray

Thanks KBR! Kenny Blue Ray is a friend and one of my very favorite players. His latest CD with Jackie Payne (Soul Blues) is killer, and available on KBR's website.- Lew

...the Fralin P90's arrived just in time for me to install them and take the guitar to rehearsal. They're perfect! I had a pretty nice pair of Kent Armstrong P90's in it (a Grosh Electratone) and they sounded good. But they were just a hair to dark for my tweed Deluxe. Now I've got the the top end sparkle I wanted , plus GREAT OVERALL TONE. Thanks for the great service.- Michael Kackman

Thank you Michael! The Fralin P90 sets I sell with the stock bridge pickup and 15% underwound neck pickup are just what the doctor ordered for adding a little sparkle and clarity...especially for chords.- Lew

Tonight I replaced the stock Gibson P90's with the Fralin P90's you sold me in my Les PaulLes Paul Gold Top and still can't believe the improvment the Fralin's have made in my guitar. They are SO MUSICAL compared to anything else I've used. It's 3:00 AM and I've been playing my guitar since about 9:00 PM...I can't put it down. Just wanted to say thanks!- Joe B.

Cool! Thanks Joe!- Lew

The Fralin Vintage Hots are the finest sounding Strat pickups I have ever heard...vintage or otherwise! Very clean and neat wiring on the pickgurds by the way!- Joe Gazzler

Joe's a great guy and has great ears for tone...I've made up three prewired pickguards for his Custom Shop Strats, replacing the Fender Texas Specials he was using with Fralin Blues Specials, Vintage Hots and now a set of Vintage Hots underwound 3%.- Lew

I got the Fralin Tele Blues Specials you sent me on monday and I installed them right away and am amazed! They are pretty much exactly what I was looking for! These have got to be the best Tele pickups ever! I have a killer Relic Nocaster that was already great with stock pickups but it was so bright that that it just picked up a tremendous amount of noise...and the the stock pickups really overaccentuated the high end..the older R&B and funk sound, that sort of Steve Cropper sound, is what I was looking for and now I've got it and then some. I have tried Fender, Barden, Duncan, Van Zandt, Harmonic Design and the Fralins are the only pickups that really do what they're supposed to do. I should have known because Lindy rewinds all of our pickups at Norm's Rare Guitars where I work and the rewinds always sound spectactular...plus, the hand built 50's style Strat I have came with some very old Fralins and they are probably the most accurate 50's replica pickups I have ever heard! You were wise to become a Lindy Fralin dealer and your choice of the hybrid stagger is perfect...you must know what you're doing.- Jason Gutierrez / Norm's Rare Guitars

All right! Thanks Jason...and I agree 100%: The Fralin Blues Special set for Tele is the best I've used...vintage or otherwise. As for Strats, the Fralin Vintage Hots -3% that I stock are very similar to the original Fralin Strat pickups Lindy wound for your guitar. The regular Vintage Hots are not an overwound pickup, but Lindy's winding technique and winding pattern results in a pickup with a stronger, richer tone...even tho they're wound to vintage specs and use the same alnico 5 magnets and 42 ga. enamel coated wire used in 50's Strat pickups. Like you, I feel that the Vintage Hots Strat set, underwound 3% compared to stock Fralin Vintage Hots, captures the bright, bouncey, vintage chime of the classic Strat pickups of the 50's and 60's better than anything I've heard...but I love the thicker, richer sounding stock Vintage Hots too!- Lew

Just a note to say thanks for the Fralin Humbuckers. (8K neck/9K bridge - wax potted with nickel covers) They have been installed in my archtop and I am very pleased. I find them to be very balanced, warm and sweet sounding. The gentle compression of the Alnico 5's is a big plus, especially when playing more aggressively for a bluesy tone. The neck pickup sounds wonderful for my traditional jazz playing. The middle position (both pickups) is terrific for R&B rythym playing and yes...I can occassionally use the bridge pickup alone for the first time on this guitar! Thanks again!- Joe Alicastro

Thanks Joe! Joe is a jazz guitarist and installed the Fralin humbuckers in a full sized archtop guitar. Actually, Lindy uses ALNICO 4 in his humbuckers, BTW...more mids and a sweeter tone than alnico 5.- Lew

I just wanted to say that I LOVE my 9.5K Lindy Fralin Humbucker that I recently purchased from you. I put it in the lead position of my exceedingly bright Les PaulLes Paul Studio. All of the other pickups that I have tried in this guitar have either been to hot and dark or way to bright. That Lindy Fralin seems to be just right, with a nice upper-mid growl and a perfect amount of high end. It is incredably dynamic as well. I'm sure that you know this but I wanted to say "thanks" - I was on the verge of selling the guitar until now.- Michael Papenburg

Thanks Michael! KBR had the same experiance with the Fralin bridge humbucker I sold him...they are wonderful!- Lew
